Matcha Sugar Cookies

Soft cookies with matcha flavor
Servings 20 cookies


  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 Tbsp. matcha powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla

For rolling

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp matcha powder


  • In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream butter and sugar and powdered sugar together. Add in egg, then vanilla, then dry ingredients. Scrape down sides as needed.
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine sugar and matcha powder in a small bowl for rolling the dough in. Line 3 sheet trays with parchment paper. Scoop 1 oz sized balls of dough, roll them in matcha sugar,then place on sheet tray about 3 inches apart from each other. Continue to do this with the rest of the dough. Bake for 10 minutes and let it cool at room temperature. Enjoy!
