We have a little bun in the oven! Happy to announce that baby boy Kline is due in August 🤗

After a few rough weeks full of nausea and weird food aversions, I’m so happy that I’m finally starting to feel better! The nausea started around Christmas cookie season and I had to put baking on hold for a little while! I couldn’t even look at a cookie without my stomach churning 🤢 But I can never stay out of the kitchen for that long 😜

Holiday’s are the time to indulge, and I think this year we need it more than ever. Try this twist on a classic, Eggnog Crème Brulee! I’ve partnered with @egglandsbest to create a special dessert using only the best eggs available. Did you know that Eggland’s Best have 6 times more Vitamin D than ordinary eggs? Vitamin D aids in the body’s absorption of calcium, which is essential in helping to form and maintain strong bones and muscle growth. Higher Vitamin D has also been linked to lower risk of severe Covid-19 symptoms. Eggland’s Best eggs also have 25% less saturated fat and more than double Omega-3’s AND B12! Mind blown 🤯 I used Eggland’s Best shell eggs to create a spiced (booze-free) Eggnog Crème Brulee with the yolks, and some cute and easy Vanilla Meringue Kisses with the whites. Eggnog Crème Brulee with Meringue Kisses
Yield 4
Cream 2 cups
Sugar ½ cup
Egg Yolks 6
Vanilla Bean ½ bean
Nutmeg ½ tsp
Cinnamon 1/8 tsp
Cloves 1/8 tsp

Meringue Kisses
Yield 28 kisses
Egg Whites 4
Sugar ¾ cup
Vanilla ½ tsp
Salt 1/8 tsp

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Place 4 ramekins in a 9x13-inch baking dish. To prepare the eggnog crème Brulee, combine cream, sugar, scraped vanilla beans, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves in a small sauce pot over medium high heat. Right before mixture boils, remove from heat and temper in yolks. Do not cook the yolks, pour mixture evenly among ramekins. Place hot water in the dish creating a water bath. Cover dish with foil and poke a few holes with a knife. Place dish in oven and bake for 35 minutes, or until center appears set and not liquid. Remove ramekins and chill overnight.

Preheat oven to 175 degrees F. Line 2 sheet trays with parchment paper. In a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat egg whites until lightly frothy. Add in sugar slowly, and gradually increase the speed to high. Once you’ve reached a soft peak, add in vanilla and salt. Beat to stiff peaks, transfer the meringue to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe kisses onto parchment. Bake for 1 ½ -2 hours. Sprinkle sugar over the Creme brûlée and torch it. Garnish with a meringue kiss 💋
