Hello, I’m Saura!
I started this blog to share some of my favorite creations that I’ve come up with over the years. I’d love to help people become more confident in their kitchen abilities and have fun! I’ve been cooking professionally for about eight years now, each year learning and growing more than the last. I enjoy making sweet creations that push the limits of what a dessert can be; by taking an ordinary dish and putting a twist on it. My favorites are matching flavors that you wouldn’t expect to find together.
I’m from Los Angeles, California currently living in Denver, Colorado. I work in downtown Denver as the Executive Pastry Chef for Kevin Taylor Restaurant Group. Currently, we have 5 restaurants in our group. And yes, I make desserts for each restaurant! We prepare everything from brunch to dinner, catering, custom events, everything. It can be a lot of work sometimes, but it’s my passion and I can’t imagine doing anything else with my life. If I’m not working making sweets, I’m home experimenting with savory food.
In 2018, I placed 1st in La Coupe d’Altamira! A local chocolate competition here in Denver, Co.
My favorite things include: family, food (obviously!), working out, cartoons and crime shows, and summer weather.
